feeling real normal and fine over the fact that scar said “you can have a monopoly” while handing grian cacti. as they stood together in the sand. that is the Closest acknowledgement either of them have ever gotten to the cactus ring.

do you think that was scar’s way of trying to tell grian he misses him? that he truly does forgive him? that he never held anything against him for how things ended up on that mountain oh so long ago?

do you think that’s scar’s way of truly reaching out to him, saying it while talking in slightly more direct circles. that they can be okay again?

do you think, as scar holds the thorns of the cacti in his hands, feels them prick his skin (if he imagines, they feel like the thorns of a beautiful rose), he’s really just taking grian’s rough hands in his own and saying it’s okay.

scar gave grian that monopoly as forgiveness, I think.

今日は浅草の店でお土産を買いに行った。

あとで、東京スカイツリーへ行った。「おもり」のコーヒーショップがあったから、ココアを買って、ケルというキャラのイラストにありついた。「おもり」はビデオゲームです。怖いとおもうが、いいゲームだ。

東京スカイツリーでたくさんお店があって、ごごに買い物をして、クレープとアイスクリームをたべた。スヌーピーのものを買った。

今夜、喫茶店で晩ご飯を食べた。そして、ホテルで梅酒を飲んだ。とてもおいしかった。

I've seen a lot of people take scar's "what happened in third life?" question and interpret it as scar not remembering third life—which makes for a very fun idea

however, I'd like to offer:

scar and grian’s entire interaction is the two of them trying to gauge where they stand with one another. grian’s hesitant “…just like in third life” is a silent question, both trying to discern if scar remembers the desert, and how he feels about it. it’s his hesitant foot forward

scar remembers third life—of course he does. he knew so many of the answers to the questions. he remembers every little detail of that game, because it was probably where he was happiest

he only asks grian “what happened in third life?” because it's a test. he's testing the waters between them, now standing as two victors on equal footing, equal ground. he plays dumb because it's scar, and he never shows every card in his hand, every trick up his sleeve. before scar takes any kind of step forward, he needs to know how grian will explain the desert, what he’ll say about it.

he asks “what happened in third life?” but there’s more questions lying in it. “do you still care?” “am I safe to trust you with my heart?” “did it mean something to you?”

scar is sneaky like that, subtle, as he pretends he doesn’t know or doesn’t remember. he needs to see what grian’s reaction is before they take up their dance again

y’know what’s insane to think about with cleo winning? how cheerful they were. scott died and cleo was laughing in disbelief but then she just sing-songed and skipped over to a creeper and let it kill her. and there’s something they said that just ?? is sticking with me.

“no it’s how you want it to work!”

besides scott, we’ve never truly seen another else defy the watchers so… loudly like that. and I think there’s something amazing and beautiful about how differently cleo reacts to winning than the other winners. in the previous five games, our winners have always had this air of disparity around them in one form or another.

but not cleo. no, I’d even go as far as to say that cleo is excited that she won. there is no sadness. no heaviness around her (and maybe part of that is they didn’t keep themself alive long enough to feel it. maybe jogging up to that creeper was a way of saving herself from that pain. she’s outlived allies before. but this? living in an empty world? no… that’s something else entirely. that’s a pain she didn’t want to confront).

I’m being serious for a minute. yeah, “real life” is just an april fool’s gag, but we are the mcyt fandom. we are literally known for taking silly gags and taking them seriously. so please please please don’t exclude cleo just because this life gag was a bit for april fool’s. please include them

it’s crazy how much scar clearly doesn’t Want to be enemies with grian. he’s giggling the entire time he’s trying to kill grian, and I’d argue at first he’s not even really trying to kill him—which is why he tells grian he wouldn’t be able to kill him anyway

but when the perfect opportunity presents itself to scar he just can’t resist trying, and he manages to kill grian

and then grian respawns in his bed and he’s there and scar is obviously trying to bargain with him. he tries to tell grian they’re even after grian blows up the reputation board. “I killed you, you killed me” kinda thing. but that’s not good enough for grian and scar is scrambling for any excuse to say they’re even—to keep grian from seeing them as enemies

he even tries to go as far as to tell skizz and Mumbo that he and grian are fine, but that’s not going to work. it’s like scar was grasping at straws to find a way to avoid making an enemy out of grian (because after all, grian is the only person who can truly go back at him with words). it’s really like scar just doesn’t want to be enemies with him

which I suppose makes sense��six games and they’ve never been proper enemies. why would scar start now? not with their history

hi I'm still not over third life and the way it all ended and do you think up until the cactus ring scar never had the courage to tell grian he loved him? at least, not directly anyway. I think he said it plenty of times beforehand, but never out right confessed.

do you think he waited right up until the very end, with his final breath, to tell grian that he loved him? he knew he wouldn't have another chance to do it. for all his acting, for all the death he caused, deep down, scar was scared. holding people close to his heart was dangerous (look at pizza). so in one last moment, one last act of true bravery, of throwing the mask aside, he looked grian in the eyes and told him he loved him--because he had nothing left to lose

was putting some thoughts together with a friend and… yknow it’s really interesting how wild life has gone so far. this is the most we’ve ever seen grian behave as an admin in a life game, and the most the others have made references to other series

from a narrative sense it has some incredibly interesting implications

in the life games, tragic games hosted by the watchers to punish grian and feed on negative emotions, players don’t typically remember. maybe grian sees to it that they don’t, to spare them. but he can’t spare the winners—the watchers never allow him

it’s grian’s way of protecting his family, his flock. he tries to make things as fun as he can, stir up some silly chaos to ruin the negative emotions the watchers feed on. and normally no one besides the winners remember

but grian can only get away with so much before he’s punished further

wild life begins and everyone outside of the winners only seem to reference specific moments from previous seasons: impulse’s lack of loyalty from cleo, bdubs killing tango, bigb betraying cleo… they recall moments of trauma, of pain. and they get no context, just disjointed memories, fractures of what the game truly was. there’s a severe lack of context involved here. they don’t have the full story, not in the way the winners do, and that missing context makes it easy to manipulate them. their pain and confusion, their trauma, all of it makes it easy for the watchers to turn everyone against grian—just some fragments of memory and it’s perfect

the watchers turn them on grian, blaming him. they’re using his weakness against him

ren, who seems to be quite aware of grian’s “role” in this, leads it all. he comes back to the games and charges, as if he were a king forming an army

he rallies who he can, tells them to direct their ire toward the “one in control,” grian. he sees the control grian has, and decides if they want to end the pain then grian needs to go. and he plays right in the watchers’ hands. he builds negative emotion for them, thinking he’s doing the honorable thing (and it took ren a long, long time to come back. who’s to say the watchers didn’t implant a seed….)

the watchers string them along, laughing in grian’s face all the while—look at them, they’re trying to kill you. the ones you’ve been trying so desperately to protect. now they’ve turned against you, little bird. was it worth it?

how painful it must be for grian to see his efforts were for nothing

I just think the narrative being strung together is cool :3
